The former Chairman of the Union Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Kalu Uke Kalu will be interred on December 9, 2023, in his hometown of Isiugwu Ohafia, Ohafia LGA of Abia State.
The ex banker, and an Ohanaeze chieftain was one of the founding lecturers of the Department of Accountancy in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was also one of the economic gurus in the country, alongside Dr. Pius Okigbo and Dr. Sylvester Ugo. The trio would later found a financial consulting firm, Skoup Nigeria Ltd.
Renowned in the corporate world, he lived a devout Christian life, as a philanthropist and mentor. Kalu died on October 23, 2023 in Enugu, at the age of 88.
