The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, National President of Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT) Audu Amba, and other personalities have commended Governor Uba Sani over the appointment of Mr Jerry Adams, a season tax administrator as Chairman, Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS).

The Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, and former governor of Kaduna State, Mukthar Ramalan Yero, also gave the commendations on Sunday during a dinner party in honour of Mr Adams at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hall, Kaduna

Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who represented Governor Uba Sani at the event, urged Mr Adams to improve on the revenue generation of the State through tax so that residents could enjoy the dividends of democracy.

According to her, Adams’ appointment was well-deserved because he is a person with, “the capacity and energy to develop the state. This is in recognition of his sterling qualities and wealth of experience”.

Dr Hadiza, who served as the mother of the day, said the humility, commitment to duty, and achievement of Adams was second to none.

She prayed to God for his tenure in office to be marked with intelligence, success, wisdom, and guidance.

Chairman of the occasion, the Chief of Defence Staff, who was represented by Maj. Gen. Mark Mammon urged Mr. Jerry Adams to remain diligent in discharging his duties.

The CDS extended gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for appointing a “distinguished individual from Southern Kaduna to oversee such a powerful organisation while emphasising the importance of transparency and accountability in all facets”.

The governors of Kebbi State who were represented by his Deputy, described Adams as a seasoned tax administrator, chartered accountant, business development expert, and a marketer with over 23 years of professional experience “whose story is that of grass to grace”.

The President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Audu Amba, who was the Planning Committee Chairman of the event, commended dignitaries, friends, and associates of Jerry Adams while expressing appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for entrusting one of their own with a significant responsibility of revenue generation in the State.

A former governor of the state, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, urged Adams to motivate his team and staff members with incentives to achieve optimal performance.

In his address, Comrade Jerry Adams expressed gratitude to the event organisers and all attendees, singling out Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to revenue collection and State development.

Adams assured of his commitment and unwavering dedication to Governor Uba Sani’s administration, while emphasising the significance of tax payment in fostering development.

“I need your support and prayers as I discharge my duties, revenue generation is a difficult task, especially in this part of the world but with the help of all and sundry this can be achieved.

“I am calling on Kaduna State residents to actively support the drive for tax compliance for sustainable development,” Adams said.
