Former President Goodluck Jonathan said former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah Jang has been following the footsteps of former Military Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon for service to God and humanity, using the biblical teaching to unit Nigerians.
Jonathan disclosed this on Friday in Jos during the official dedication of a Ten Commandments prayer Altar, build by Jang for all christians at Doi, in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He said Gen. Gowon used the gun as Military head of state to fight and keep Nigeria united and later drop the gun and picked a great and mighty weapon which is the Bible to bring Nigerians together and Jang is doing the same thing.
“I thank the Former Governor of Plateau State Sen. Jonah Jang for his vision, dreams and foresight for building this monument that will served as an altar of prayer, praise and worship to God towards spiritual redemption and the promotion of Peace in Nigeria.
“Jonah Jang is really following the footsteps of former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon who used the gun to fight and defend the unity of this country, and later drop the gun and carried the mighty weapon which is the Bible to bring Nigerians together.
“Jang is doing the same thing in a very special way, he was a firm soldier who used the gun to keep Nigeria together having served as Military Governor, Civilian Governor and has been in the Senate now is using the Bible to as weapon for the Unity of Nigeria”.
The Former President said the edifice will served as a meeting point for Christians to pray and to praised God.
Jang who is the President of Yeshua Kingdom Foundation International appreciated the Former President Jonathan for making out time to attend the dedication of the Ten Commandments.
He described the Former President as one of the great President Nigeria has ever had.
Jang said for Jonathan to accept defect in 2015 where he made a statement that, “My ambition is not worth the blood of any single Nigerian” has earn him life time respect in the world.
He said vision to build the Ten Commandments which is a place where prayers and worship will be offered to the Lord was inspired by the Holy Spirit
“Today, I am grateful to God that the Ten Commandments tablets has been completed, prayer rooms and the international altar is ready, the pool of Bethsaida, a 5800 seats is ready and fully equipped with sound system and lighting in place.
“To complete the facilities for the smooth operation of Yeshua Kingdom Foundation International, the Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) located nearby has donated all its chalets, hostels, clinic and workshops to YKFI to boost needed resources base for the ministry’s operations.
“The vision to build a place where prayers and worship will be offered to the Lord was inspired by the Holy Spirit. He knows the beginning to the end. This dedication ceremony makes us to look back and thank God for everything, His mercies and goodness have brought us thus far and He will continue to abide with us.
“We have been praying and asking the Lord for a time such as this when the body of Christ, will come together in unity and one accord, to offer prayers of dedication and consecration unto Him. As we dedicate the Ten Commandment Monument today, I pray that this place brings unity to the body of Christ in our State and Nation and indeed to all men.
“This place avails us a platform where we can cry unto the Lord for the many ills that bedevil our dear State and Nation today. Our peace, prosperity, unity, health, indivisibility as a nation is in the place of prayer and as Christians, we must pray into existence the very things we want our Father to make happen in our dear country.
“Wholistic discipleship and transforming generations across nations Advance the Kingdom of God through making obedient disciples who will continue to multiply the DNA of Christ Jesus.
The COCIN President, Rev. Prof. Dachollom Datiri dedicated the Ten Commandments to the glory of God as many clergymen and Political office holders attended the event.
