I’ve no regrets leaving school early – Jewelry Designer, Godson Umeh
It is not unusual to learn that some of your favorite celebrities either put their education on hold or completely stopped going to school in order to follow their aspirations.
Walt Disney, David Karp, Mike Hudack, what do these well-known people all have in common? The fact that they are the brains behind multibillion-dollar businesses and have established enduring legacies within their respective industries should be evident. The fact that they are all high school dropouts is not so clear.
The choice is more challenging for the British-born jewelry designer who is already well-known, despite the fact that they are frequently praised for these choices given their triumphs.
“I left high school when I was seventeen to concentrate exclusively on creating a company’s jewelry collection brand. I never attended college or received any formal business training.”
” had a strong commitment to my profession and a desire to grow. At first, I didn’t have a lot of industry knowledge. However, I had confidence in my work and had the desire to continue assuming greater responsibility. I had to put in a lot of effort to get to where I am now, and I still do.”
“Not that I put in more effort than most because every job has its own set of particular difficulties, but failing to graduate from high school gave me some valuable lessons about achievement.”
Before he started making jewelry, Godson Umeh did not always have it easy. He had to work odd jobs to make ends meet while he was growing up in Reading.
His love affair with jewelry design began when he worked as a fashion designer, but he ultimately decided to leave school to focus solely on his goals. The jewelry designer, who has collaborated with numerous football stars and music celebrities, said he had no regrets about quitting school to follow his aspirations.
If you’re ready to put in the effort, nothing is out of reach. You cannot rely solely on your skill set or degree to differentiate yourself, whether you are a high school dropout or a college graduate. No matter what it takes, you have to blaze your own trail.
He claimed in a recent interview that he didn’t leave school to pursue a career as a fashion designer but rather to follow his dreams, and he emphasized that the decision hasn’t hurt him in the least.
“I dropped out of school to focus on all I do in life, not just jewelry making alone”, he claimed.
