A thriving Nigerian entrepreneur based in Ireland and Chief Executive Officer of Mansions Foods, Mrs. Edizemi Onilenla, has said that the forthcoming Irish-Nigerian Partnership Investment Conference will promote economic growth and collaboration between Nigeria and Ireland.
Onilenla stated this at a press conference in Abuja ahead of the Irish-Nigeria Partnership for Development and Growth Business Conference billed to take place from 27th to 29th October, 2023, in Dublin, Ireland.
The three-day event, according to Onilenla, will offer a unique platform for robust business engagement between Ireland and Nigeria, focusing on driving innovation, fostering economic growth, and forging meaningful partnerships.
She added that the conference, organised by leading industry professionals and policymakers, aims to strengthen economic ties between Ireland and Nigeria and create opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Onilenla also said with a specific focus on the industries of aviation, agriculture, technology, education, health and infrastructure, the event promises to be an unparalleled opportunity for growth and development.
Onilenla said: “The Irish-Nigeria Partnership for Development and Growth Business Conference is an incredible initiative that will undoubtedly pave the way for greater economic collaboration between Ireland and Nigeria. As someone who has experienced the challenges and successes of doing business in both countries, I am confident that this conference will open doors to new opportunities and strengthen the ties that already exist.”
Onilenla further said Nigeria, as the population and economic powerhouse of Africa, is an attraction for many Irish investors who are looking for new grounds to break.
“The conference will therefore showcase the good qualities of both countries, the power of collaboration, partnership and networking for old and emerging CEOs. Over the years, Nigerian people have looked towards the UK, France, Asia, the US and Canada.”
We in Ireland say it is time to spread our tentacles and expand our horizon to the opportunities that abound in the Irish space and to begin to look seriously into building good trade relationships with Ireland and the Irish people, with the intent to re-invigorate the age-long historical ties between the two countries that is virtually almost lost,” she added.
Also speaking, the Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ireland, Abuja, Shane Rice, said the Irish-Nigeria Investment Conference will boost agriculture, aviation, among others.
Shane also said the confab will offer profound opportunities for Ireland and Nigeria to deepen and expand their bilateral relations and cultural ties in order to promote economic development through trade and investment.
“This is a pathway to enhance each other’s culture and people because when one partner prospers, the other partner also prospers, which captures the essence of the partnership,” Shane stated.
