The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned organisers of World Igbo Congress (WIC),  scheduled to hold  in Enugu tomorrow that the group wants total liberation from Nigeria and not appointments.
IPOB alleged that reason for the congress was to deliberate on how President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will give Igbo appointments in his administration.
It also condemned the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) which attacked the former Aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for allegedly saying President Buhari told him that he will never forgive the Igbo.
The group noted that the Igbo are aware President Buhari  hates them because he has been showing his hatred since he assumed office.
A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, said IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, will not fold its arms and watch a sponsored group like AYF or anyone from South-East, South-South or South-West insulting Chief Fani-Kayode who stood against the injustice inflicted on citizens.
“We are watching the situation with kin interest, but, we warn the AYF and their sponsors to stop attacking Fani-Kayode. The attack on Fani Kayode and/or Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose by some sponsored groups and youths from the northern part of Nigeria is a clear indication that youths in Arewa land are brainwashed by their politicians.
“Therefore, we, in IPOB, want to let the world know that we are in support of brave outspoken men like Fani-Kayode, Governor Fayose and those who stood their ground without fear or favour to speak out against injustice.
“These men of honour deserve the respect of all, not condemnation because they stand for justice and equity.
“Going by the statement that led AYF to attack Fani-Kayode that President Buhari told him he will never forgive the Igbo, the Igbo are aware that Buhari hates  them. He has been showing his hatred for Igbo people since he started and everyone knows that his actions towards Igbo people speak louder than his voice.
“There is no doubt that his actions against the people of Igbo extraction always prove that he has a deep hatred for them. In 1984, when he toppled the democratically elected government of Nigeria, led by Alhaji Shehu Shagari, he openly detained the former vice president, Dr. Alex Ekwueme and other prominent politicians from Igbo extraction in maximum prisons and kept those politicians from other parts of Nigeria, mostly those from the North, in a house arrest because they are not Igbo.
“It is against this backdrop that we call on those Igbo politicians, who scheduled the World Igbo Congress  that we, in IPOB, are not fighting for appointments in Nigeria government, rather,  we want total liberation from the country,” the group said.
