IPAC: We’ll work to deepen Nigeria’s democracy –Nnamani

The new Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Enugu State, Obioma Nnamani, has promised that the group will work assiduously to deepen Nigeria’s democracy.

He made the promise in his acceptance speech after his election as the new chairman of IPAC in the state. An electoral committee, led by Ogbonna Uchechukwu, who was the Returning Officer, conducted the election on Thursday.

Nnamani, from the BOOT party, said: “I want to assure all and sundry that we will work for the deepening of our nation’s democracy. We shall also bring together all aggrieved parties to chart a way forward for IPAC in the state.

“I appreciate the national executive of IPAC that were present to conduct the election in a free fair and credible manner. I also appreciate all the relevant agencies, including the INEC who made available their facility for the conduct of the election. I commend all the stakeholders that made my emergence possible.”

Nnamani, who lauded the security agencies for supporting the peaceful conduct of the election, promised that IPAC under his leadership would work for the interest of all members.

The electoral committee chairman and the returning officer, Ogbonna Uchechukwu, who briefed newsmen after the conduct of the election said: “After the election, which was monitored by INEC, in the presence of security agencies, the following persons emerged as the new executives of IPAC in Enugu State: Obioma Nnamani of BOOT party emerged as the chairman, Elvis Cajethan China-Zamugwoke of Zenith Labour Party is the deputy chairman, Afamefuna Samuel of the APP emerged the secretary, while Aliyu Adamu Muhammad of NNPP is the Deputy Secretary. “Others are Chukwuma Stella Nneamaka of ADC, who was elected the Financial Secretary, Ezeah Magnus of SDP is the Treasurer, Ikeh Kenneth Odoh of APM is the Organising Secretary, Ugwu Chiedozie Louis of NRM is the Publicity Secretary, and Augustine Nnamani of PDP is the Legal Adviser.”
