Reports from Spain says Nigeria international midfielder Uche Chrisantus will undergo surgery that will keep him out for the entirety of next season after picking up an injury in yesterday’s 0-1 pre season defeat to Monaco, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Back at the club after an unsuccessful time on loan to English Premier League side Crystal Palace, the Nigerian was introduced in the second half of the game, and it wasn’t long before he was stretchered out.
He was at the receiving end of a nasty tackle from Christian Mawissa who was sent off. It left everyone fearing the worst judging by how high the boot of the Monaco defender was and how it landed with force on his chin.
Shortly after the end of the match, Getafe issued a medical report revealing the results of the first tests on Uche which isn’t as bad as initially feared: “After the first tests and clinical examination carried out by the club’s medical services, Christantus Uche presents a contusion to the kneecap of his right leg, caused by the blow suffered during the match against AS Monaco.
But recent reports has it that he will undergo surgery and will miss the entirety of next season as he suffered several tears in his knee ligament.
