The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has commended the Sokoto State Government for its positive response towards giving its counterparts funds in boosting agricultural activities in the state.
National Project Coordinator, Alhaji Lawal Ida, made the commendation at a two day sensitisation of Community Development Associations (CDAs) on a new Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme initiated by the federal Government in Sokoto.
Ida who was represented by the Coordinator, Productivity Enhancement, Othman Yahaya said since the inception of IFAD Programmes in the state, Sokoto State Government has always being on the forefront not only supporting its programmes but giving out its counterparts funds as at when due.
He noted that the commitment shown by the state government said are reasons behind the successful implementation of agricultural projects in the state.
Earlier in his address, the Director General IFAD Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Dogon-Daji said the State Government under the leadership of Goveronr Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, gave Agriculture a priority its deserved.
