I would love to see an industry where everyone is given an opportunity – Whykay

When you think of Nigerian entertainer Adeyinka Ogunjimi a.k.a Whykay, words like intelligent, versatile and beautiful comes to mind. 

 

The bubbly damsel who doubles as a rapper, actress and music producer has stated that she didn’t pay attention to the challenges she encountered, in the early days of her career.

“I just didn’t pay attention to them .I just wanted to make music and I was going at my own pace. Later, I figured dad doesn’t even have an issue with my career path, I was just being scared to bring it up. As long as you go to school and do what’s right”.

 

Shedding light on the changes she would loves to see in the industry, the ‘Saye’ crooner said: “I would love to see an industry where everyone is given an opportunity .Platforms which focuses on upcoming acts should be created and prioritized .We have lots of talented people out there”.

Whykay who has rebranded into a music producer also shed light on why she learnt music production.

“This is interesting. The very first reason I even considered music production was because I got so busy with other parts of my career I was beginning to lose touch. So I decided to have my studio as a form of motivation. I also thought being a music producer; producing others and myself won’t be a bad idea. I’m already making free background music for content creators by the way”.

 

 

Asked about her educational background, the Ondo State indigene said: “I attended Dr Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary School Festal Town .For my Secondary School Education, I attended Ambassador College Festac Town .While for my University education, I attended Wisconsin International University College Ghana. I studied management and computer studies. I was a science student all through but look at me now. I still like science though. I studied science but work in the arts sector”.
