A troubling discovery was made when a newly formed security outfit in Anambra State code named Agunechemba raided Awo-Iseke forest in Ihiala local government area of the state and recovered scores of human skulls and other human parts.
In a viral video circulating online, the security outfit raided the forest and discovered a human abatoir where human skulls numbering over 30 and other dismembered human parts were seen.
Also discovered at the scene was the decomposing body of a young man suspected to have been killed by the kidnappers who used the forest as their den.
During the raid, operatives of Agunechemba also killed one of the suspected gunmen while others escaped with bullet wounds, leaving behind their weapons.
Though there was no official statement from the security outfit, eyewitness who circulated the gory video online disclosed that the forest was set ablaze by security men during the operation which gave a clearer view of the disembwres human parts in the forest.
It was alleged that some of the victims were kidnapped victims who were killed, their body parts harvested and sold for ritual purposes while remaining parts were dumped in the forest.
An editor of a Christian based newspaper, Fides, Jude Atupulazi said ” I don’t know, but I was told the video was the aftermath of a raid by Agunechemba on some of the forest hideouts of kidnappers in Awo-Iseke-Ihiala axis. We can from the video see the horrors unleashed by those miscreants posing as our liberators.
“If more of such operations like this are conducted, these criminals will leave Anambra State. My only regret is that the entire Southeast Zone is not working in synergy to wipe out these undesirables. Of what use is Anambra chasing them out and they run to Imo from where they enter Abia State and eventually return to their first base.
“The Southeast leaders should conduct simultaneous operations. That’s the only way towards stamping out the scourge that has befallen us.
