Renowned singer Timi Dakolo has shared how wooing his wife, Busola was a challenge during their courting days.

The West African Idols inaugural winner disclosed that he met his wife in the church and after taking her phone number couldn’t get her on her mobile device.

Dakolo also shared that his spouse was embarrassed by the car he used to drive back then.

“I met my wife in the church. I went to her and asked her to be my date for a ball. She gave me her number but wasn’t picking up the phone when I called.

“I kept going to the area hoping to see her again. Then I saw her one day and I asked her why was she not picking my calls and she said her phone got stolen.

“I sympathised with her and we became friends. I started developing feelings for her and she wanted to friend-zone me but I refused. I suffered to win her love. I was taking her to work to and fro.

“At one time, she used to be embarrassed whenever I picked her up with the branded Picanto I won from Nigerian Idols. I said, ‘Okay, don’t worry. I will shock you. Don’t look down on me.’ And I did,” he said.
