Chairman House Committee on Land Transport, Hon. Blessing Onyeche Onuh has given credence to unbundling Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC to create opportunity for private sector to invest in railway operations.
This according to her will enhance private sector participation in the railway sector and reduce bureaucracy usually associated with wholly owned government agencies.
Onuh noted the unbundling programme was in tandem with the reward hope of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the economy should be private sector driven.
She said the oversight visit of House Committee on Land Transport to NRC Headquarters in Lagos, last Friday was aimed at identifying challenges and proferring solutions by ascertaining budgetory requests for capital and recurrent expenditures before making appropriation.
