The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced the appointment of two distinguished health leaders—Senator (Dr.) Olanrewaju Tejuoso and Dr. Ebere Okereke—to its Board of Trustees (BOT), reinforcing the Federation’s governance as it continues to champion policy reforms, strengthen public-private collaboration, and advance the role of the private sector in improving healthcare delivery across Nigeria..
The appointments reflect HFN’s continued commitment to strengthening its governance with accomplished leaders whose expertise spans healthcare delivery, public policy, institutional governance, health security, and global health. Their wealth of experience will support the Federation in driving strategic advocacy, fostering public-private collaboration, and advancing policies that improve health outcomes across Nigeria.
As Nigeria’s healthcare sector undergoes significant transformation, HFN continues to strengthen its institutional leadership to better support policy dialogue, foster strategic partnerships, and represent the collective interests of the private health sector. The appointment of Senator Tejuoso and Dr. Okereke brings complementary expertise in health policy, governance, and global health that will further enhance the Federation’s ability to contribute meaningfully to national health priorities and the achievement of Universal Health Coverage.
A distinguished physician, policymaker, and business leader, Senator (Dr.) Olanrewaju Tejuoso has built an accomplished career across clinical medicine, public service, and institutional governance. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health during Nigeria’s 8th National Assembly, he played a leading role in advancing Universal Health Coverage, strengthening health financing reforms, and supporting the implementation of the National Health Act and the Basic Health Care Provision Fund. A longstanding partner of HFN, he brings deep expertise in healthcare policy, governance, and institutional leadership to the Federation.

Dr. Ebere Okereke is an internationally recognised public health physician and global health strategist with more than three decades of experience in health security, epidemic preparedness, health systems strengthening, and policy development. She currently serves as Global Health Adviser to the Director General at the Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity, where she supports the Foundation’s global health strategy and international partnerships. Her extensive experience working with governments, multilateral organisations, and global partners brings valuable expertise in health governance, strategic partnerships, and resilient health systems.
