Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Bola Adesola, as its new Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman.
Mrs. Adesola is expected to replace Mr. Asue Ighodalo, the pioneer Chairman of the HFN Board of Trustees, who had played pivotal role in steering the organization to achieve remarkable growth and success.
HFN in a statement, on Thursday, said appointment of Mrs. Adesola, marks a significant milestone for HFN, looking forward to continued success and growth under her leadership, being a highly accomplished professional in the banking and financial services industry.
The statement noted Mrs. Adesola brings over 34 years of experience in the banking and other sectors to her new role. “Her impressive career includes holding the position of Senior Vice Chairman, Africa, for Standard Chartered Bank; and Chairman of the Bank in Mauritius. Mrs. Adesola has also made significant contributions to renowned institutions such as Citibank and First Bank of Nigeria.”
The statement also noted that she has been extensively involved in corporate governance and diversity initiatives. “Beyond her successful career, Mrs. Adesola has also been actively involved in various professional associations, corporate governance, and gender diversity initiatives.”
“She co-founded Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), Nigeria’s leading gender-oriented network, showcasing her commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion.
“She also served as Vice-Chairman of the United Nations Global Compact for three years and currently on the Leadership Council of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) and the Governing Council of Nigeria University of Technology and Management.”
HFN expressed optimism about the wealth of experience and leadership that Mrs. Adesola brings to the organization. “Having been a Trustee on the board of HFN since inception, her strategic guidance is anticipated to play a crucial role in steering the HFN toward even greater achievements.”
Management of HFN expressed sincere gratitude to immediate-past BoT Chairman, Mr. Ighodalo for his outstanding leadership, and contributions that have been invaluable in shaping the organization’s journey.
