*Says he can’t raise loan to refund salaries

The former member representing Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives, Herman Hembe, has filed a motion on notice asking the Supreme Court to reverse its judgement, sacking him from the House.
The former chairman of the House Committee on FCT described the judgement that ousted him from the National Assembly as “an accidental slip”.
Hembe was sacked on June 23, by the apex court in a judgement delivered by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, wherein Dorathy Mato, was declared the authentic winner of the March 28, 2015, general elections.
The CJN ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Hembe and issue same to Mato.
The apex court also ordered Speaker of the House to swear-in Mato as representative of Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency. But as at Thursday’s plenary, Mato had not been sworn in.
Hembe is, through a motion on notice filed by his lawyer, Mr. Paul Erokoro (SAN) on July 18, 2017, in the Supreme Court, seeking an order invalidating the judgement and remitting the matter to the Federal High Court, Makurdi for trial.
The former lawmaker equally asked the Supreme Court to set aside the consequential orders given against him.
