Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, has described Prof. Aminu, as a patriotic Nigerian, whose remarkable contributions to national development, particularly in education, diplomacy and public service, left an enduring legacy.

In a condolence message, Kalu expressed grief over the death of the eminent academic and elder statesman. He was a man of great intellect and integrity whose dedication to the service of our nation remains an inspiration.

“As Minister of Education and later Minister of Petroleum Resources, his visionary leadership made lasting impacts on key sectors. He was not only a national icon but also someone I held in high personal regard,” Kalu said.

Kalu, who also served as Chief Whip of the Senate, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Aminu family, the government and people of Adamawa State and all Nigerians.

He prayed for God’s comfort for the bereaved and eternal rest for the departed.

“Professor Aminu’s legacy lives on in the many lives he influenced and the institutions he helped shape. Nigeria has, indeed, lost one of her finest,” he added.
