There was confusion in a market at Bishop Okoye Street in Mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as an unknown woman brought a five years old boy whom she claimed is her child for sale on Saturday.

 

The incident reportedly occurred at about 3:40pm as customers and traders surrounded the woman with amazement.

 

Former Vice Chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association, Bishop Okoye branch, Mr. Nelson Tasie, who reportedly witnessed the scene told a source that the woman said life was very difficult for her and she could no longer take care of herself and the child, which was she opted to sell him.

Mr. Tasie said since he was in a haste, he adviced that the woman and the child should be taken to Nkpolu Police Division, Mile 3 Diobu, so that the Police could wade into the matter.

 

The former Vice Chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association disclosed that concerned traders and customers were on their way with the woman and her child to the Police station when he left the scene.

 

Police were yet to respond officially to the incident.
