Gunshots disrupt Olubadan’s coronation of Baales

A chieftain of Labour Party (LP) who was a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Sharafadeen Alli, and some  journalists, on Monday morning, escaped death when unknown gunmen invaded the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji and shooting sporadically during installation of Mogajis and Baales .

Daily Sun gathered that, four gunmen, at about 11:45a.m., on Monday, arrived the Olubadan palace in a black Toyota Sienna and opened fire in front of the palace.

Alli’s car and several others were badly hit. Others at the venue including journalists had to scamper for safety.

Alli, the Asanu Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, escaped unhurt as he was in the car during the shooting that lasted for about 10 minutes.

The shooters later sped off towards the Molete end of Popoyemoja.

The coronation, however, continued inside the palace.
