Group tasks members on charity works

The President of the Federal Government College, Okigwe Old Students Association (FEGOCOOKOSA), Chief Peter Anyanwu, has charged members of the association to always remember to give back to the institution that helped to mould them into who they have become in life.
Anyanwu, who gave the charge at the special presidential dinner/awards night in Lagos, reiterated FEGO- COOKOSA’s commitment to supporting the college through various initiatives.
In his address, he noted that the occasion was to foster camaraderie among FEGOCOOKOSA stakeholders, as well as to provide a platform to discuss the association’s future amid the challenges facing Nigeria.
Reflecting on his tenure as FEGOCOOKOSA president, Anyanwu shared insights from his tours to the alma mater and chapters across the country, even as he stressed the need for unity and belonging among members.
Recounting the history of FEGOCOOKOSA, he pointed out key milestones such as the 10th and 25th anniversaries and the impactful contributions of various chapters, particularly the Lagos and Port Harcourt chapters.
He highlighted significant projects undertaken by the association to include the establishment of a computer laboratory and generous donations to the college.
He expressed gratitude to past leaders and alumni for their outstanding contributions and outlined his vision for the association’s future.
He noted that his roadmap includes focus on rewarding good work, giving honour where due, expanding the association’s reach, enhancing mentoring programmes, and initiating growth systems within the association.
He, however, appealed for support in realising the outlined projects for the college. He also acknowledged the need for growth and unity within the association, urging members to contribute to its success.
Anyanwu equally introduced the concept of Endowment Partners, encouraging attendees to become contributors at different levels, even as emphasised the power of collaboration, and urged members to work together for success.
He also expressed confidence in the association’s ability to make a lasting impact on their alma mater.
