Group holds campus food drive in Akure

Bakitarian Campus Food Support

A youth group, the Bakitarians on Monday held its maiden Campus Food Support initiative at the College of Health Technology, Akure (CHTA) in Ondo State.

Leader of the group, Afeez Babatunde Akinteye aka BABTEE disclosed that the initiative was born from an unwavering commitment to advancing humanity and in honour of Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), whom he said has “redefined public service and rejuvenated the Ministry of Interior through his innovative ideas and exceptional performance”.

He disclosed that over 200 packs of Indomie noodles were distributed to students through the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the institution.

This, he said, was part of the group’s efforts to support and uplift Nigerian students.

Akinteye, the immediate-past Senate President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), added that the relief package was aimed at providing immediate support and showing tangible care for the teeming and vulnerable Nigerian students.

He said, “Today, we gave back to Nigerian students in recognition of BTO’s unprecedented achievements and to further propagate his unmatched humanitarian services that continue to touch lives and make lasting impact across the nation.

“Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO) has distinguished himself as a distinct public administrator. We have seen him redefine and rejuvenate the Ministry of Interior beyond imagination.

“To this end, in honor of BTO’s unique, unmatched, and unprecedented achievements, and in recognition of his generosity and service to humanity, the BAKITARIAN Campus Food Support (BCFS), under my aegis as the forerunner, took place today, giving back to students.”

He noted that the Bakitarians remains committed to alleviating the needs of Nigerian students.

“Our resolve remains firm to continue championing causes that uplift lives and inspire positive change. This is just the beginning of something extraordinary,” Akinteye said.
