Plateau State Governor, Caleb  Mutfwang, has approved the constitution of a 10-man security committee to handle security related issues in the state, and come up with best recommendations for government action.

The 10-man security committee headed by AVM Napoleon Bali (retd) as Chairman, alongside Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, with other retired security officers, are expected to bring their wealth of experience towards a possible state confab in addressing the lingering mistrust among communities, as well as entire citizens of the state.

A statement by the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Samuel Jatau, maintained that the state government has no doubt on the calibre of people saddled with the responsibility, as Mutfwang’s administration was  committed to bringing Plateau together for the progress of the state.

He further explained that the committee would come up with comprehensive list of stakeholders across the three senatorial zones of the state, covering all faiths, ethnicity and gender, to the government.

“This committee was constituted at the outset of this administration to provide a roadmap to be implemented by the government to ensure the sustainable peace and security in the state.

“Part of the mandate of this committee is to come up with a comprehensive list of critical stakeholders across the three senatorial districts, cutting across the divide of faith, ethnicity and gender, towards possible convening of an All-Plateau Confab as a strategy for building trust in the state.”

Other members of the security committee comprised Prof Ganyir Lombin, PIDAN representative, Brig Gen G.G Ship (retd), DIG Felix Vwamhi (retd), DIG Habila Jwalshak(retd), Major Toholman Daffi (retd), Coordinator, Operation Rainbow, with Jatau as the secretary, respectively.
