Gospel music icon, Ron Kenoly has died aged 81.
The American Christian worship leader and singer passed away on February 3, leaving behind a legacy that touched millions through his songs.
Kenoly’s longtime music director, Bruno Miranda, confirmed his demise in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
Miranda wrote, “This morning, February 3, 2026, we said goodbye to Dr. Ron Kenoly.”
He added, “For over 20 years, I had the honor of walking alongside him in ministry around the world—not just as his music director, but as a son, a student, and a witness to a life marked by faithfulness. Doc was very intentional about one thing: he was never an artist, never an entertainer. He was a worship leader. And he took all the time necessary to explain what that truly meant.”
The cause of death was not disclosed.

Born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Kenoly began his career in 1968 after serving in the US Air Force.
He rose to fame in the 1990s with albums like “Lift Him Up” and “Sing Out with One Voice,” blending energetic praise with heartfelt worship.
His songs, such as “Ancient of Days” and “God Is Able,” became staples in churches worldwide, inspiring generations of believers.
Kenoly’s influence extended beyond music. He was a pastor and mentor, travelling globally to lead worship seminars and concerts.
Fans remember him as a humble man whose voice brought people closer to their faith.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, whom he married in 2014, along with his children and grandchildren.
