The General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, Lazarus Muoka, has urged Nigerians and members of his congregation to put their trust in God, assuring them that God is able to turn their sorrow into joy, just as He did for Jabez in the Bible.
Muoka made this call during the second day of the church’s revival programme, titled, “From Sorrow to Joy,” which concluded yesterday at the church auditorium.
Drawing his Bible reading from 1 Chronicles 4:9–10, he reminded worshippers that although Jabez was born in sorrow, God transformed his life and changed his story. “I do not know the sentence of death or sorrow upon you or your family,” he declared, “but it shall be turned to joy.”
He encouraged participants to believe that no problem is beyond God’s power. “Your problem started one day and today your problem will end,” he said. “God did it for people in the past and He will do it for you.”
The cleric further assured the congregation that God would put a new song in their mouths and rebuild every broken life. “Is there any small problem you have that God cannot solve?” he asked. “You are God’s divine project and He will build you. You will not remain in sorrow.”
Muoka also called on participants to examine their lives and repent of anything that could hinder God’s blessings from manifesting.
The programme featured several testimonies from participants. One of them involved a man identified as Uche, who was said to have suffered from mental illness for over 14 years and had allegedly terrorised his community. According to the testimony, he was brought to the programme by a relative while still chained and after prayers, he was reportedly restored to sound health.
Another testimony was that of Samuel Nwachukwu, who was said to have lived with mental illness for eight years and resided under a bridge at Cele Bus Stop. An evangelist of the church, Emmanuel, reportedly encountered him during an outreach and brought him to the church for prayers.
According to the account, Nwachukwu gradually recovered and has since returned to productive life, learning skills such as barbing and shoemaking through the church.
The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including Pastor Noli and his wife, President of the Council of Pastors from Latina and Philippines, among others.
