When the deadly Covid 19 virus struck, it caught the world unawares. Governments across the globe drew drastic measures in an attempt to contain the fast-spreading novel virus. Many countries imposed lockdowns and curfew businesses incurred huge losses and learning institutions were closed indefinitely as scientists raced against time to find ways of curbing the virus that was ravaging the world. The indefinite closure of schools left many students with a bleak future especially those in developing countries like Nigeria where online learning was not a common practice.
Reza Abbaszadeh, an affluent Iranian German entrepreneur and philanthropist, has helped hundreds of young Nigerian entrepreneurs through his online business school that offered them web teaching as the pandemic ravaged on for free. The online platform, Abbaszadeh University allowed the budding entrepreneurs to learn how to take their businesses and companies to greater heights from scratch.
Speaking during an interview session with journalists on Friday, Mr. Abbaszadeh said Nigeria is already a beneficiary of GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, a public-private global health partnership to increase access to immunization in poor countries and he is willing to donate as much as he can to expedite the vaccination process.
