Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, stating that Nigeria is in capable hands under the current administration.
Fubara made the remarks on Thursday while declaring open the meeting of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt, where monarchs from the 17 southern states gathered to deliberate on issues of unity, security, and economic development.
The governor said the Tinubu administration is making measurable progress in reviving the economy and delivering key infrastructure, including coastal road projects, despite prevailing challenges.
He stressed the need for continuity in governance, warning that changing leadership midway could disrupt ongoing reforms. According to him, sustaining the current direction is critical to consolidating development gains.

Earlier, the chairman of the council, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, said the meeting was convened to promote peace and strengthen cohesion across the region.
He noted that the forum reflects the diversity of the South and serves as a platform for traditional rulers to engage on common interests.
The monarch added that the council would also explore ways to support government efforts in addressing security and economic challenges, stressing the importance of collaboration in national development.
