From Jude Chinedu, Enugu
The management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), has reassured the public that all graduates of the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, are fully qualified professionals, duly recognised and licensed to practise in their respective fields without any hindrance.
The clarification was contained in a press statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Kayode Taiwo, following growing concerns over delays in the mobilisation of graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
According to the statement, the clarification became necessary in response to enquiries and apprehension among former students regarding their eligibility for national service.
The management explained that the delay is largely due to the recent transition of the college into a full-fledged university, a development it described as a major milestone driven by the academic excellence of its graduates and the commitment of its leadership.
It noted that the institution, now barely two years old, is still finalising certain administrative processes associated with its new status.

While acknowledging that the transition temporarily affected procedures such as NYSC mobilisation, the university assured that the situation is now under control, adding that proactive steps are being taken to resolve all outstanding issues affecting the graduates.
Reaffirming the professional standing of its alumni, the institution emphasised that all graduates have been duly registered and licensed by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria.
These certifications, the management noted, confer full professional recognition and enable graduates to secure employment across the healthcare sector without restrictions.
While stressing the importance of NYSC mobilisation, the university assured stakeholders that the process would be completed in due course, urging affected graduates to remain patient and understanding.
FUAHSE further reiterated its commitment to sustaining and advancing its legacy of academic and professional excellence, noting that, despite its relatively young status as a university, it remains focused on strengthening its reputation in allied health sciences education.
