Founder of Emmanuel Umohinyang Jnr. Foundation, Emmanuel Umohinyang Jnr, has called on well meaning members of the society to assist the less privileged.
He made the call when he donated cash and food items to the Precious Pearls Orphanage, Egbeda, Lagos.
According to him, such people need support to realise their dreams of a better tomorrow.
He said the world would be a better place if people endeavour to be their brother’s keeper.
Umohinyang, who noted that things were hard, however, said that should not be an excuse to forget orphans and others in need.
“I want to call on all those who can assist these people to please do so. These are people like you and I; it is not their fault that they are in this condition. But the good news is that those in need today can become better person in future if we assist them.
“This is the reason we are here today to show support to these friends of ours,” he said.
Umohinyang, who also cut his birthday cake with the orphans, said he chose to mark his birthday with them as a way of showing solidarity, even as he thanked his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Umohinyang for their support.
Supervisor of the orphanage, Vivian Edoge, commended the Foundation for identifying with the children and said the items would go a long way in meeting their needs.
