The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has extended warm greetings to Muslim women on World Hijab Day 2026, themed “Unity in Hijab,” while also marking the start of World Interfaith Harmony Week (February 1–7), under the theme “Celebrating Peace, Honouring Leaders – From Prayer to Action.”
In separate messages issued Sunday, Mrs Tinubu hailed the hijab as a profound symbol of obedience, dignity, strength and worship for many women, emphasising its role in affirming faith and identity.
She celebrated the beauty of choice and urged Nigerians to view diversity as a source of unity rather than division, fostering mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and solidarity across all cultures and beliefs.

“As a nation, may we continue to embrace mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and solidarity across all cultures and beliefs. Together, we are stronger,” she stated in her World Hijab Day message. “Happy World Hijab Day.”
Speaking on interfaith harmony, the First Lady invited all faiths to unite around shared values of love, peace, compassion, respect and service to humanity. She stressed the need to move “from prayer to action,” inspiring dialogue, mutual understanding and collective efforts to build a more peaceful and inclusive Nigeria.
“Happy Interfaith Harmony Week 2026,” she concluded, reinforcing a vision where diverse beliefs drive national progress.
