The industry leaders highlighted the importance of building a strong network of connections which is crucial for career advancement, business development, and staying informed about industry trends.
The 2025 Emerge Conference in its 6th edition, was organised by Mbraiz Innovations Ltd, a real estate company, with the theme: ‘Connect.’ It brought together entrepreneurs, small business owners, intrapreneurs, creatives, career professionals, and students seeking guidance and opportunities for growth.
The event featured several key players in various sectors, who higlighted the need to build the right relationships with individuals and groups that can offer support, guidance, and opportunities.
In his remarks, the CEO, Mbraiz Innovations Ltd, and convener of the conference, Dr. Femi Oshofowora, disclosed that he is a product of mentorship, noting that connecting with experienced professionals can provide valuable mentorship, guidance, and support in their career journey.
Oshofowora emphasised the place of knowledge sharing and engaging with others through networking to facilitate the flow of ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions for greater visibility and credibility.
He submitted that the theme was apt as Emerge conference is such programs that offer opportunities to meet professionals from various sectors and industry to foster valuable connections and potential collaborations.
“A lot of people are struggling, especially those who are at the lowest part of their career and business.
“They need networking and connection that can boost their influence, capacity and their drive in order to achieve something substantial in their career and business.
“And that is why we target Connect, where they can meet with people who are at the peak in different industries and can lift them to a point where they can be sustainable and then have a good result in their endeavors.
To address challenges bedevilling the real estate sector, Oshofowora advised that government needs to understand that real estate especially is one of the businesses that can bring development into the society.
He urged government to empower young people and organise mentorship programs for those who have skills and potential in different industries and businesses.
“Because without mentoring, it may be difficult for you to climb.
Dr Oluseyi Oladapo, Patron, Mbraize Innovation and Group CFO, Pan Ocean Oil and Newcross Group emphasized the strategic importance of connection as key driver and a catalyst for growth.
Oladapo said with connection, businesses grow two and half percent faster than those that don’t network.
“What you cannot pursue you cannot achieve.
No success is accidental.
Human beings have need for connection.”
He noted the need for capacity building to enhance the business.
“You cannot grow beyond your capacity.
“Business value will be maximized and more when there is the right connectivity and capacity.
“How you define your world determines your height.
Entrepreneurs must define their goal. Give first and ask later.Give value first, that will determine the price.
Performance goes before recognition.”
He urged the participants to garner enough value and preparation, as that will determine the level of growth.
“Years of preparation determine your height.
Give value first that determines the price.”
Oladapo noted that the business environment was competitive, as such individuals should nurture their relationship very well for the future.
“A good entrepreneur must see above the nose, must participate in relevant platforms based on your business space, think beyond the immediate value. Nurture your relationship well for value as emotional intelligence is key.”
The patron advised business owners to control their emotions in dealing with their workers as no relationship can be sustained with emotional intelligence.
“Find things you need to stop or continue and adopt on regular bases.
“Self awareness is a starting point which helps you control yourself.”
He noted that social skill is essential for growth.
You need to learn and unlearn to be updated.”
Oluseyi reiterated the need for digital networking, which is vital for growth and revolutionise how business owners connect.
“Business must be taken out there for visibility and credibility. Must be valued locally or internationally.
Networking is your business power.”
Dr Veronica Folorunsho, GMD, Gap and Nuella Concept, pointed out the importance of knowledge sharing, adding that nobody knows it all.
“It’s all about sharing your own experience, bringing insight into what it is.
“I’m sure there are different categories of people here today we have the young ones, the mid-age ones, the starters.
The conference is all about collaborating, rubbing minds and ideas and everybody will bring their knowledge to bear.
We should make it possible and easy for others.
“This is what I work with, don’t try to make it happen, but I try to make it possible for people to work with.”
She was optimistic that the women can do it in the professional space, advising young women to raise their heads up high, believe themselves to sail through.
“We can pull out our best.
I’ve seen women all over the world doing stuff.
“And we have this innate instinct that whatever we touch moves greatly.
So what I came here to share with the younger ones and with my colleagues is to say, we should try and listen more to ourselves.
“We should wake up from our slumber. Women are really not meant to be in the other room.
“We are to be everywhere.
And we should make our impact felt.”
Dr Oladipupo Clement, Group CEO, Life page, believes that a business that has no structure will not survive.
Clement added that success in business is all about making the right decision.
Over the years, the real estate company, Mbraize Innovation has done over 100,000 thousand allocations and has about 13 estates.
Awards were presented to some staff and team members who had worked hard to project the company’s image in the business world.
The program featured high-impact keynote sessions, engaging business panels, and insightful conversations led by prominent figures. Other speakers included Seyi Awolowo, Dr. Kunle Adeyemi, Amb. Peace Ukamaka, and Engr. Kayode Aluko among others.
The various speakers highlighted personal branding, financial leadership, real estate investment and entrepreneurship.
