Chairman, First Rotech Group, Austin Oguejiofor, has said the proposed Abuja Airport Garden City will house over 3,000 residents upon completion.

Oguejiofor also noted that the structure would drive economic activity within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

Speaking at the weekend during an update on the ongoing development in the Gousa District of Abuja, he announced that the access road linking the city is under construction.

According to him, the route connects the new city directly to the Abuja Industrial Park and the Abuja Airport Railway Station that would enhance connectivity and ease of access for future residents and businesses.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure needed for the Abuja Airport Garden City project, describing it as a non-negotiable priority.

Oguejiofor confirmed that construction began following approval from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), and marks a significant milestone in the project’s rollout.

“We are not just building houses; we are creating a complete city where infrastructure is planned to serve people’s needs around the clock.

“From roads to power and security, everything is designed to international standards and built to last,” he said.

He outlined several key infrastructures being prioritised as part of the master plan, including: 24-hour power supply and street lighting, High-speed internet connectivity across all areas, CCTV coverage in public spaces for improved security, modern drainage and sanitation systems, Continuous water supply, fully equipped hospital and pharmacies, Fire service station and police post, Banks, recreational centres, schools, and well-landscaped green spaces.

“This development is ideally positioned between the airport and the central rail station. It will become a thriving hub for both residential and commercial life,” Oguejiofor concluded.
