Residents of Abua/Odual Local Government Area in Rivers State have commended the council chairman, Owolobi Ofori, for his achievements during his first year in office.
Members of the community noted that his administration has delivered development projects, enhanced security, and eased economic hardship across the local government area.
Highlighting the chairman’s scorecard, the Deputy Leader of the Abua/Odual Legislative Council, Olavokere Jamala, lauded Ofori for fulfilling his campaign promises under his Uru Odighi agenda.

Jamala, who represents Ward 10, outlined key achievements in security, including the donation of five Hilux vehicles, 13 motorcycles, and communication gadgets to the Nigeria Police Abua/Odual Division.
He also listed school renovations, the provision of an emergency response ambulance, the revitalisation of the public transport system with new buses, and quarterly ₦300,000 scholarship grants for Law School students.
Other accomplishments include undergraduate bursaries, clean water boreholes for remote communities, road repairs, medical relief programmes, and the recruitment of volunteer teachers.
Ofori assumed office after the local government elections conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) on August 30, 2025.
