Father’s Day: Tinubu Celebrates Fathers, Hails Their Sacrifice and Resilience

From Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja

On Father’s Day, President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to all fathers, including paternal figures, who have played a significant role in shaping the nation’s future through their sacrifices, guidance, and provision.

He highlighted the importance of this day, which originated in the Middle Ages and gained official recognition in West Virginia, United States, in 1908, as a day to honor all fathers, living and deceased, as well as paternal figures.

According a statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu emphasised that society is better off with fathers who take on the responsibility of guiding children through life’s challenges and preparing them for the future.

He noted that these values cannot be bought with money or material possessions but are instilled through personal examples of discipline, integrity, service, respect, love, and allegiance to the nation.

He saluted all fathers, both celebrated and uncelebrated, who work tirelessly to provide for their families, describing them as true heroes. He urged fathers to remain committed to positively shaping the destinies of those who will inherit the future.
