Victor Osimhen’s injury has raised concerns over his availability for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Tanzania.
The Super Eagles striker is scheduled for knee surgery on Saturday after sustaining an injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League match against VfB Stuttgart.
The injury comes just days before Nigeria’s double-header against Tanzania, with the first match scheduled for November 13 and the return fixture on November 17.
Galatasaray confirmed that Osimhen sustained a left knee strain during the Champions League encounter. An MRI scan also revealed a loose body in the affected knee.
