Some farmers under the umbrella of Marketers And Agro Nigerian Farmers (MAPAN) have re-affirmed their support for the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar in Saturday’s election.

The group in a communiqué issued at the end of an enlarged meeting said their support for Atiku was informed by the PDP standard bearer’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian farmers.

According to the communiqué, national chairman of the group, John Okunbor, said the choice of Peter Obi as Atiku’s running mate was one of the best things to have happened in Nigerian politics.

Okunbor noted that with the entrepreneurial and political track record of the duo, Nigeria is set to bounce back to economic boom, with agriculture taking a centre stage.

He urged the over three million farmers in the group across the country not only to vote en-mass for Atiku and all PDP candidates but also ensure the protection of their votes.
