The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has been recognised as the 2024 Aviation Agency Chief Executive Officer of the Year at the NIGAV Awards. This recognition follows a public nomination and voting process conducted by NIGAV, where Kuku secured 35.3% of over 3,500 online votes, reflecting her impact on the aviation sector since assuming office in December 2023.

Under her leadership, FAAN has implemented key infrastructural upgrades and introduced innovative processes across Nigeria’s airports. These efforts have improved operational efficiency and enhanced the passenger experience, earning commendations from airlines and stakeholders.

The award will be presented at the 14th Nigeria Aviation Award and Ministerial Dinner on April 11, 2025 at the NIGAV Centre, located in the international wing of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
In a statement, Fortune Idu, the organiser of the NIGAV Awards, emphasised the credibility of the selection process, which began on February 1, 2025. He described the NIGAV Awards as a platform that celebrates excellence and innovation in Nigeria’s aviation industry.

The 14th NIGAV Awards will also feature the presentation of the Aviation Year Annual Report highlighting key developments and achievements in the sector over the past year.
