Kolawole Esther, one of Nigeria’s gold medalists in the wrestling event at the ongoing All African Games in Ghana has expressed joy after her success in the women’s 62kg, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Nigeria swept all the available gold medals in the women’s freestyle wrestling at the ongoing African Games in Ghana. 

Odunayo Adekuoroye, Blessing Oborududu, Mercy Genesis, Christiana Ogunsanya, Esther Kolawole and Hannah Reuben all clinch gold medals.

Esther, who expressed her feelings after winning gold on her African Games debut, noted that her next target is the Olympics qualification. 

“I’m so happy because it’s my first African Games here in Ghana. It’s history-making that I’m able to deliver a gold medal for Team Nigeria which gives me a lot of happiness.

“The next step for me is to qualify for the Olympics and also to go for a win in Paris later this year.”
