Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Egypt international Omar Marmoush on loan, according to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal will see the 27-year-old forward move to north London on an initial loan, with an option to buy that will become mandatory if certain conditions are met. Marmoush is expected to travel to Tottenham on Monday for his medical before completing the move.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has been keen to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline, despite the club already making several additions during a busy summer window.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have joined Spurs, while the club have also agreed a separate deal with Manchester City for Brazilian winger Savinho.

Marmoush’s proposed move would further strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options as De Zerbi seeks to rebuild the squad after the club narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship last season.

Romano reported that Tottenham have now agreed the loan arrangement with Manchester City, with the mandatory purchase clause dependent on specified conditions being met during the loan spell.

Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 in a deal reportedly worth £59 million. He made an immediate impact, scoring eight goals during the second half of his first season at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Egyptian struggled to secure regular first-team football during his first full season at City, falling behind Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki in the pecking order.

The forward has made 62 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists in 3,128 minutes. He also helped the club win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup last season.

Marmoush made 21 Premier League appearances during the 2025-26 season, starting eight matches and scoring three goals, while also providing three assists.

His move to Tottenham would give the Egyptian an opportunity to secure more regular first-team football under De Zerbi, with the medical and completion of the transfer expected to take place ahead of the Premier League transfer deadline.
