Igwe Christopher Sunday Ekwo of Obeleagu Umana in Ezeagu Local Government Area (LGA), Enugu State, has commended Adani Care Foundation for the Easter package for his community.
On Easter Monday, the foundation shared medicine and food and, thereafter, began a vocational training for youths of Amube Evuazu in Obeleagu Umana.
Mrs. Nneka Jemie is the initiator of the programme to uplift her natal community, with the active support of Prof Jemie, an academic, writer, and respected Nigeria media manager.
Igwe Ekwo recalled that though married outside the state, Mrs. Jemie did not forget her suffering and showered her with his royal blessings.
“She is not the richest but is doing this for the love and interest she has for her people, focusing on the needy, sick, old and the orphans among us. This is very noble. We can’t thank her enough for the medical outreach, giving out food stuff and training of our youth in various schools,” he said.

Mrs. Jemie told newsmen that Adani Care creates public awareness of the abject poverty that ravages rural communities in Nigeria.
“We help to reduce its impact by lifting members of the community above the poverty line. The focus is especially widows, orphans, youths, adults, the sick, and the elderly,” she said.
“We are here to serve you and to praise your remarkable resilience in the face of hardship. You inspire us every day with your courage and determination”.
She said Adani Care has so far provided over 430 screenings, critical medication to individuals, served 1,300 hot meals, and distributed hundreds of bags of 50kg rice to address their food shortages. The NGO also awarded a nursing scholarship and ongoing vocational training for youths.
At the Easter event, the foundation gifted 50kg rice to over 150 families and offered free medical care through a standing medical team. A dentist gave a practical demonstration of how to care for the teeth at the two-day event.
