#ENDSERS: Plateau youths demand pardon for convicted protesters

Gov.-Simon-Lalong-of-Plateau

Gyang Bere, Jos

Plateau youths have urged Governor Simon Lalong to grant pardon to those who were arrested and convicted by the courts during the #ENDSERS protests in the state or face massive protests.

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Youth Wing, Plateau State, Markus Kanda Audu, a pharmacist, stated this in his submission to Governor Simon Lalong on Friday after a robust engagement meeting convened by the governor at the Government House, Jos.

“Government should look into the case of those who were tried and convicted of breaking the law as regards to curfew, to grant them pardon. Deliberate effort should be made to engage and involve the youths not just as personal assistants but as commissioners, members of boards and parastatals. There is need to actively engage all recognized youth bodies periodically but regularly at local, state and national issues.
