The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerians to make zero tolerance for corruption a central part of their New Year resolutions for 2026.
In a New Year message delivered on Wednesday, Olukoyede urged citizens to pair their excitement and renewed hopes for 2026 with heightened vigilance against economic and financial crimes.
“The euphoria of the new year is gladdening, but it should awaken in every Nigerian a deeper drive for accountable conduct,” he said.
He emphasised that national greatness depends on transparency and integrity.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria could break free from poverty and deprivation, highlighting that President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda was aimed at restoring the nation’s prosperity.
“We can make Nigeria greater. This is the pivot of the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President. Nigeria will rise again,” he stated.
He, however, wished Nigerians a happy and fulfilling 2026, urging all to channel their energy towards accountability and the fight against corruption.
