EFCC Cracks Down on Internet Fraud, Arrests 3 Brothers in Makurdi

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Command, have arrested three brothers for suspected internet fraud.

The brothers, Abubakar Sadiq Adejoh, Mohammed Habib Adejoh, and Solomon Adejoh, were arrested on Friday, May 17, 2024, in Makurdi. They are suspected of diverting customers’ funds from their accounts to a Point of Sale (POS) terminal for withdrawal.

The commission’s Head of Information Unit, Mr. Kassim Yahaya, released a statement in Makurdi on Monday, stating that the suspects were arrested along New Garage, Wadata. Items recovered from them include a car, six mobile phones, one laptop, and cash totalling N3,562,750.00.

According to the statement, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
