General Manager of the Men’s senior national team, Musa Adamu has assured that Nigerians have nothing to worry about with regards to the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup later this month in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The former national team guard told Daily Sun Sports on the final day of the 2022 Jordan Nwora Foundation Elite Basketball Camp held at the Dodan Warriors Basketball Courts that the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, is working round the clock to ensure that Nigeria presents a formidable team that would compete at the World Cup Qualifiers.

“Be rest assured that we’re working on getting the best players for the job. The team that went to Rwanda for the third window was hurriedly put together but I can assure you that Nigeria will present a good team comprising of some NBA players alongside others for the second round,” he stated.

Nigeria is currently ranked number four on the Group E table with 6 points from 4 games behind Group leaders Cote d’Ivoire (8 points), Cape Verde (7 points) and Angola (6 points).

Three teams from each group in the first round advanced to the Second Round of the African Qualifiers.

In the Second Round, each team will play each new team in their group during two tournaments played over two event windows schedule in August 2022 and February 2023.
