The Chairman of Conference, United Evangelical Church (UEC), Nigeria, Rev. Daniel Anjorin, has expressed deep concern over the worsening security and economic conditions in the country, and called on government at all levels to take urgent steps, decisive and sustained actions to address the challenges and restore hope among citizens.
He made the call while fielding questions from journalists as he rounded off his three days pastoral visit to the Lagos Township Superintendency of the Church in Surulere.
While emphasizing that safety, welfare and well-being of Nigerians must remain a top priority, particularly as the country approaches another election circle, the cleric said government at all levels cannot afford to neglect the plight of the people, rather, should take greater responsibility.
He specifically called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the deteriorating security situation, rising fuel costs and inadequate electricity supply in particular, stressing the need for policies that will directly improve the welfare of Nigerians.

Anjorin urged Nigerians not to lose hope but continue to pray and remain confident in God as the country navigates difficult times, assuring that exceeding, unspeakable great joy and divine help are ahead and sufficient to lead the nation through its socio-economic challenges.
His words: “Nigerians should not lose hope’ they should remain steadfast, prayerfully and have confidence in God who is able to do all things. Governments at all levels on the other hand should re-double efforts for stronger national response to curb the growing wave of insecurity and hardship faced by Nigerians.”
The spiritual leader of UEC Nigeria, while re-affirming UEC members support for the government at all levels, pledged continued prayers toward national development, called also on Nigerians to rise above sentiments, tribalism and nepotism, but focus on building a united, better, peaceful, egalitarian and prosperous nation.
Speaking on his three days pastoral visit, Anjorin said it was aimed at strengthening the Church spiritually and administratively, as well, a great blessing to the entire superintendency.
He commended the leadership of Lagos Township Superintendency and the entire members of its headquarters in Surulere, for show of love and understanding, Heaven-sent revival and salvation of souls.
Earlier in his remarks, superintendent of the Lagos Township Superintendency, Rev. Idorenyin James, congratulated the spiritual leader of the Church on his recent emergence as the Chairman of Conference, saying it was divinely orchestrated, and pledged the Superintendency’s support to his administration.
