The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Enugu State in the 2027 general elections, Obodoeze Chukwuma Ocho has promised to re-engineer Enugu if elected as governor.
Ocho, who is currently the Executive Director, Finance and Operations, Zech Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, promised to bring over two decades of corporate boardroom leadership experience directly into the Enugu’s political arena.
He vowed to implement a bottom-to-top economic model to revitalise the rural communities, instead of relying on top-down state resource allocation as is being currently done.
He said his campaign is heavily focused on the strategic convergence of modern agriculture and technology, promising to transform agriculture into a tech-driven, highly profitable commercial sector that would guarantee food security and at the same time, create job opportunities for the state’s teeming youth population.

“The future we desire is entirely possible,” Ocho stated, detailing his structural agenda. “With discipline, a clear vision and collective effort, we can build an inclusive system that truly works for every citizen across Enugu State.”
He promised to target systemic administrative waste by leveraging his corporate experience in cost reduction and operational optimization; a move that is aimed reforming the state’s civil governance into a modern, data-driven system.
He added that his policy framework outlines clear milestones for increasing public resource accountability, expanding vocational skill acquisition centres and deploying infrastructure tailored directly to rural productivity.
He said his campaign deliberately positions him as a non-traditional candidate, explicitly presenting him as a result-oriented professional rather than a career politician. “This background forms the core of my message to an electorate that is increasingly skeptical of conventional political rhetoric. By prioritizing institutional metrics over party populist platforms, my party hopes to capture the support of independent voters, the state’s intellectual core and grassroots organisers who favour concrete economic results over long-standing partisan loyalties,” he stated.
As the race to 2027 gathers momentum, analysts agree that his entry has shifted the debate from basic political control to corporate-grade governance capacity. Backed by strong academic credentials, including an MBA in Finance and an MSc in Marketing from the University of Port Harcourt, Ocho represents a calculated challenge to old governance models.
