Digital Creator Africa Summit 2025: Lagos hosts Africa’s biggest gathering on the business of creativity

The heartbeat of Africa’s digital economy will resonate in Lagos this week as Digital Creator Africa (DCA) unveils its flagship Digital Creator Africa Summit 2025 on September 18 at the Landmark Event Centre.

With the theme “Monetize Your Creativity,” the summit aims to empower content creators, filmmakers, and storytellers with practical strategies to convert talent into sustainable income streams.

The summit forms part of the Africa Creative Market (ACM), the continent’s premier platform for advancing the business of creativity. For convener Ifeoma ‘Oma’ Areh, the gathering is about bridging a gap that has stifled many creators from reaching their potential.

“The talent is here. The audience is global. What’s missing for most creators is the bridge between creativity and cashflow. At DCA Summit 2025, we’re building that bridge with insights, tech, connections, and real-world monetization strategies that creators can apply instantly,” she explained.

The numbers underscore the urgency. Africa’s creator economy, valued at $3.08 billion in 2023, is projected to exceed $17.8 billion by 2030. Yet many creators across the continent still earn less than ₦100,000 ($65) per month. For Dr. Sarah Inya Lawal, Founder of ACM, the summit represents an essential intervention.

“When we bring together the continent’s most innovative creators with global industry leaders, we’re not just facilitating conversations; we’re building the infrastructure for Africa’s creative future,” she said.

The star-studded lineup reflects this ambition. The summit will open with a keynote by Chude Jideonwo, who will explore “Africa’s Creator Economy: Unlocking Monetization Opportunities.” Other spotlight sessions include Tomike Adeoye on building creator-led brands, Chichi Nworah on scaling African entertainment globally, Malik Afegbua on AI-powered creativity, and Obi Asika on the business of culture.

A dynamic series of panel discussions will provide practical lessons. “From Creator to Creative Entrepreneur,” moderated by Yolanda Okereke, will feature voices like Tosin Ajibade (OloriSupergal), Winifred Nwania (Zeelicious Foods), Yemisi Odusanya (Sisi Yemmie), and David I. Adeleke. Another panel,

“The Monetizable Brand Techniques,” will bring together marketing and tech experts to reveal strategies for attracting sponsorships and leveraging platforms such as YouTube. Executives including Olufemi Oguntamu and Franklin Ozekhome will also unpack how creators can secure deals and brand partnerships.

Other highlights include sessions on building communities through user-generated content, moderated by Nneamaka Nwadei, and a panel on streaming success, featuring producers and actors like Ariyike Olowolagba, Bolaji Ogunmola, and Jesimiel Damina.

More than inspiration, the Digital Creator Africa Summit 2025 promises to deliver a roadmap for creators to scale their craft into profitable businesses. With the continent’s digital economy rapidly expanding, Lagos is positioning itself as a nerve center for creative innovation.

As industry leaders, creators, and global executives converge, one message stands out: Africa’s creative voices are not just emerging, they are building the future of the global creator economy.
