The Shell Hall of the Muson Centre in Lagos was the epicenter of Nigeria’s motion picture industry last week as the National Films and Videos Censors Board (NFVCB) successfully hosted the 5th edition of the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference.

The two-day high-profile gathering, held from Tuesday, November 18, to Wednesday, November 19, 2025, served as a crucial platform for stakeholders to discuss the industry’s progression under the theme: “From Volume to Value: The future of the Nigerian motion picture industry in the digital age.”

The conference, the second under the leadership of NFVCB Executive Director Dr. Shaibu Husseini, celebrated significant milestones and honored key contributors to Nollywood’s growth.

Top of the list of honorees was celebrated filmmaker and culture connoisseur Bolanle Austen Peters, who delivered the keynote speech and was recognized for her immense impact. Other award winners include Joy Odiete, Femi Odugbemi, Funke Akindele, Cinemax, Filmone, Moses Babatope, Chioma Ude, and rave film, ‘Gingerrr.’

In a memorable show of appreciation, Dr. Husseini and the NFVCB management hosted a glamorous reception to celebrate 23 distinguished film practitioners who recently attained the age of 50 and 60.

Veterans honoured include screen legends like Segun Arinze, Ngozi Ezeonu, Hon. Desmond Elliot, comedian Ali Baba, Rita Dominic, Sam Dede and Eucharia Anunobi, among others.

The sessions featured robust discussions on crucial industry topics, including monetization, audience growth, and gender-equitable narratives. Naz Onuzo, CEO of Inkblot Studios, delivered a major keynote speech on second day.

While Minister for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, was absent, she was ably represented by the Director General of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Ali Nuhu.

High-profile attendees across the two days included the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Temitope Enita Ogunwusi, Stephanie Linus, Chief Emeka Ossia, Mahmood Alli-Balogun, and a host of producers, directors, and distributors, all affirming their commitment to guiding Nollywood into a more valuable and regulated digital future.
