Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and the Director-General South East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, have met with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the recent demolition of some houses in Abule Ado area of Lagos State by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA),

Ekwunife and Ifeanyi and Sanwo-Olu, all members of the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC, engaged in a series of discussions held at the Governor’s Lodge , Asokoro, Abuja on Sunday night.

The meeting aimed at finding peaceful resolutions to quell the action of FHA resolved to further engage the stakeholders of Abule Ado and the Lagos State Government in order to look further into the issue and proffer necessary solutions.

Speaking after the meeting, Senator Uche Ekwunife called on South easterners residing in the area to remain law abiding and assured them that she would always make moves that will protect their interests.

“We deliberated over the issues and we are glad that we have reached peaceful resolutions that will be acceptable to both parties, we took into consideration the side of the law and as well the economic impacts of the people. We will have extensive discussions with the stakeholders of the Estate in the coming days.

In his remarks, Senator Ubah called for calm and assured the residents of the area who are mostly perceived to be Igbos that in line with his principle of protecting the interests of ndị Igbo, he would make further efforts to ensure the amicable resolution of the issues in contention.

Senator Ubah, also expressed confidence in the ability of the Lagos Governor to resolve the matter. He also disclosed that the outcome of the meeting has been communicated to the President of the Association of Ndi-Igbo in Abule-Ado Community, Amuwo Odofin Lagos, Chief Nwafuribe Chukwudiegwu to liaise with all stakeholders and estate leaders.
