There was a mild drama at the headquarters of the APC yesterday when Anamero Sunday Dekeri, one of the aspirants claiming victory at the APC governorship primary election, stormed the secretariat to demand the Certificate of Return from the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC).
Insisting that he won the shadow primary election, he arrived Buhari House in Abuja around 1:10pm to officially present a letter requesting the NWC, through the national chairman, to immediately, issue him with the certificate.
A source close to the member of the House of Representatives for Etsako Federal Constituency told newsmen that the one-page letter personally signed, requested that the party’s highest administrative organ, the NWC should issue him with the certificate of returns, having polled the highest votes in the election.
Spokesman of the local government returning officers, Mr Ojo Babatunde, who announced the result on Saturday night said Dekeri polled 25,384 to defeat his closest rival Dennis Idahosa, who scored 14,127 votes.
