BBC Sports pundit Troy Deeney has apologized to Taiwo Awoniyi, after he had written the Super Eagles striker off.
Awoniyi scored twice against Chelsea, with Igor Jesus adding the other from the penalty spot and after eight changes were made to the starting eleven, this proved a brilliant team performance.
Deeney also admitted he’d changed his mind on Forest’s survival hopes after this game, following a remarkable prediction before the contest.
He believed Forest should be worried after Spurs’ win, but he quickly backed down on that after this superb win over Chelsea.

After the game with Chelsea, he also backed down on his opinion of Taiwo Awoniyi after writing him off earlier this season.
Deeney said on BBC Sport: “A big performance from him. Only his second start of the season for Forest.
“I saw him earlier in the season against Chelsea, and he looked like he was carrying a wagon, like he couldn’t play football any more, but playing this Chelsea team, how the roles have reversed.
“He looked fantastic – two goals, powerful performance.”
